This window installation is from the start of my second year at college. it is displayed in four windows of the college, and can be seen from all around.

NIGHT POINT OF VIEW

RESULT

each window holds a wooden frame with coloured perspects cut into my chosen design, and vinyl cut and stuck onto each window. i was able to have funds put into my idea and give me the competence to construct another installation.

behind the production of this display, i researched additive and subtractive colour- implementing this by using subtractive colour as my primary colours of the perspects.

i developed my ideas from my last project in year one and looked further into light and colour, how they affect our surroundings and alter our emotions and feelings.

using power tools, a frame was made for each window where i could easily slot the pre-cut perspects. when placed in the windows, i was able to create the element of dimension, having the perspects layered and the vinyl flat on the window.

When the sun reflects through the windows, they create coloured reflections onto the walls , adding another element to the display. we see reflections everyday, i played into this by exerting natural light into my piece.

EXPERIMENTING

PROCESS

I documented the process of how i came to my final design, and how i chose what colours would best suit the space i had. i recorded what the sunlight looked like in the stairwell that i was using.
