This was my FMP (final major project) for my first year. i produced a single booth that displayed sensory items in an assortment of colours, but also included many of the senses- sight, smell, touch.

FABRIC MANIPULATION
with my art, i always look to involve viewers in the final product, enabling my work to become interactive. i looked into many aspects behind the outcome- sensory and the senses, and also colour blindness.
the idea behind my sensory experiments, came from my inclined sense of having people become part of the piece that i have created; by looking into senses, i was able to reorient my ideas and produce art that all kinds of people could experience, whether that be disabled or not, they would all have a chance to feel the same. with the sense of touch, i utilized the materials i had around me and created art that when felt, gives different sensations to the person, the textures range from soft to hard, rough to smooth. sense of smell was something i incorporated into the hanging origami, i scented each flower with a floral smell and asked the viewers to go up and interact with them.
colour-blindness, is a disability that people DON'T recognise often due to it not being visible to most. i researched the types of colour deficiencies and how they view the world- i took an interest in this and fabricated this booth around the idea of colour and how it affects everyone; i used a lot of colour in this booth, the fabric manipulations being two separate tones- warm and cool, and then on the back wall, i included different textured materials that were from the grey-scale. by the side of the booth there is also two pairs of glasses which have added coloured lenses; they were included for people to wear and view the booth through a different perception, as if they are viewing it from someone else's eyes- like someone who is colourblind.
